The call is open for young researchers with a PhD degree in materials science and engineering, chemistry, physics or related areas.
The objective of the work plan is the study of the structural properties, water adsorption and ion transport in proton or hydroxyl conducting polymers and organic-inorganic hybrids for application in fuel cells and electrolyzers, through a combination of experimental and atomistic simulation methods.
Legislation and regulations:
The fellowship is in accordance with Law Nº. 40/2004, 18th August (Research Fellow Statute) and Regulamento de Bolsas de Investigação da Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia — no. 234/2012, no. 326/2013 and no. 339/2015 (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/regulamento.phtml.pt) and the Regulation of Scientific Research Grants from the University of Aveiro – Regulation n.º 341/2011, published in Diário da República, 2nd series, n.º 98, 20th Maio.
Workplace: The work will be carried out at CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials, University of Aveiro, under the scientific supervision of Filipe Figueiredo and José Richard Gomes.
Duration and scope of activity: The fellowship has a duration of 18 months on an exclusivity basis, expected to begin during September 2018.
Value of monthly maintenance allowance: 1495€ according to the official table for Research Grants from FCT - http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores, to be paid monthly via bank transfer.
Evaluation Criteria and Process: The evaluation criteria are: number and merit of the publications in areas relevant for the proposed activities (45%); academic and research curricula relevant for the project activities (45%); the result of an interview about the past activities of the candidate (10%).
Jury: The Jury responsible for the evaluation process is composed by Doctor Filipe Miguel Henriques Lebre Ramos Figueiredo as President, Professor Fernando Manuel Bico Marques and Doctor José Richard Baptista Gomes.
Announcement of the result: The final results are presented in the form of a list ordered by final mark, which is on display at the Complexo dos Laboratórios Tecnológicos da Universidade de Aveiro, and sent bay email to the selected applicant.
