The candidates should have a MSc degree in Chemistry, Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or similar.
Candidates with foreign academic diplomas are obliged to present records of the equivalence/recognition of such diplomas and the conversion of the respective final notes to the Portuguese classification scale (whenever a final classification is attributed with the foreign diploma), issued by the Directorate-General for Higher Education or by a Portuguese public higher education establishment (regulated by Decree-Law no. 341/2007, of 12 October) or, in alternative, present the document of equivalence/recognition of such foreign qualifications to the corresponding Portuguese qualifications, issued by a Portuguese public higher education establishment (regulated by Decree-Law no. 283/83, of 21 June).
Work place: The research work will be carried out at the Faculty of Medicine of University of Coimbra, under the scientific supervision of Dr. Lino Ferreira. Duration: 6 months.

Financial conditions: The amount of the scholarship is 980€, paid monthly by bank transfer. This amount is increased by the voluntary social security corresponding to the first level, in case the candidate elects this possibility, as well as personal accidents insurance. The scholarship value will not increase during the course of the project.
Regime: The attribution of the scholarship does not generate or entitle a relation of a legal-labour nature, is undertaken in an exclusive dedication regime and attributed to the Scholar within the Scholar Statute of the University of Coimbra, based on the Regulation of Research Scholarships of the University of Coimbra (Decree no. 5120/2005, 2nd Series, DR no. 48, of 9 March, Deliberation no. 23/2005, of 5 January, of the Senate of the University of Coimbra).

Additional information: The evaluation results will be released to the candidates within 30 working days, after the deadline for the submission of applications, by electronic mail (email). After the publication of the results the candidates are automatically considered notified for, if wanting, to comment on a preliminary hearing within 10 working days after that date. At the end of this period the selected candidate (s) must declare in writing his/her (their) acceptance and declare the date of actual commencement of the fellowship.
