The Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC) has one open Research Fellowship position for Master-holders to work in the project Towards a single therapy against triple negative breast cancer and neuroblastoma by nucleolin-mediated multicellular targeting with a synergistic drug combination, with the following specifications:

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Life and Health Sciences or related fields, as well as excellent command of written and spoken English. The successful candidate will join the CNC-team integrated in a European consortium, working in the development of a ligand-mediated multicellular targeting, using nanoparticles, for the treatment of triple negative breast cancer and neuroblastoma. The grantee will actively contribute to the development of the project by performing scientific work involving cell culture, liposome formulation, RT-PCR, western blot, flow cytometry, etc.

Duration: 8 months non-renewable. It cannot be extended beyond the end date of the project (29/02/2020)

Value of monthly allowance: The successful candidate will receive a monthly allowance stipend of 989,70 Euro according to the FCT monthly maintenance stipend (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores), and Social Security insurance if requested. This corresponds to an amount covering for a comfortable living in our society.
Selection methods: Curricular evaluation (70%) and Interview (30%). At least the 2 best candidates will be selected for the interview.
Selection and attribution criteria: In curricular evaluation will be consider: curriculum vitae (40%) and profile adequacy, namely, proven experience in oncology and targeted therapies, cell culture, liposome formulation (including drug combinations), RT-PCR, western blot and flow cytometry (60%). In the interview the selection panel will evaluate the knowledge about the application of nanomedicines in oncology, critical thinking, and motivation. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
