One fixed-term contract (Reference ICETA 2019-68) is available at CIBIO-InBIO, through ICETA-University of Porto, funded by the project PORBIOTA – Portuguese E- Infrastructure for Information and Research on Biodiversity – 22127, with reference PINFRA/22127/2016 POCI-01-0145-FEDER-022127, supported by national funds by FCT / MCTES and co-supported by Fundo Europeu de Desenvolvimento Regional (FEDER) throughout COMPETE 2020 – Programa Operacional Competitividade e Internacionalização (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-022127), a distributed e-infrastructure to manage biodiversity data and meta-data from multiple sources (data providers).

Monthly salary: Índice 20 to Índice 45 da Tabela de Remunerac¸a~o U´nica according to CV evaluation and admission requirements (from 1 458,94 € to 2 746,24 € before tax).
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic system administrator, ideally with virtualization skills, to manage CIBIO/InBIO’s cloud infrastructure and HPC cluster. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development and implementation of CIBIO/InBIO's internal cloud infrastructure to support the computational needs of PORBIOTA project at CIBIO/InBIO.
The successful candidate should have a degree or MSc in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or equivalent and possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience of Unix/Linux system administration (ideally Red Hat Enterprise) is a requirement. Developing and operating a cloud environment and/or virtual infrastructure would be a distinct advantage as would networking skills. His/her main role is to develop and maintain CIBIO/InBIOs computational infrastructure and services that are built on top of an OpenStack virtualization platform.

Desired skills and competencies that will be valued are:
· OpenStack or other cloud layer implementation and administration;
· Experience with Docker, Kubernetes;
· Monitoring and System Management Tools;
· Automation and Orchestration Tools (Terraform, Ansible);
· Knowledge of UNIX/Linux networking security;
· Experience in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python);
· Experience with version control systems (e.g., git)
The candidate should be able to work well within a team, interact well with the users, and have excellent English and communication skills.
Work will be conducted at the headquarters of CIBIO/InBIO in the Campus Agrário de Vairão, 4485-661 Vairão, Vila do Conde, Portugal.

In a first stage, candidates will be ranked based on:

If necessary, on a second stage only the top-most ranked candidates will be selected for an interview. The final rank will be calculated by the weighted average of the interview (40%) and the original ranked mark (60%). The interview will focus on the motivation of the candidate and his/her knowledge on the subject of this call. It may also include a technical discussion and/or technical questions. The jury will not choose any of the candidates if they all fail to demonstrate their fit to the position.
