Research field: Materials Science and Engineering
Admission requirements: The call is open for young researchers with a PhD degree in materials science and engineering, physics, chemistry or related areas.
Activity Outline: Throughout the project the applicant will develop activities of synthesis, processing and evaluation of electrolytes for polymer electrolyte fuel cells. These activities imply the use of a vast array of methods of characterization of materials, including their composition, structure, microstructure, viscoelastic properties, electrical and electrochemical properties. The assembly of the various components for fuel cell tests in single cell configuration is also envisaged.

Workplace: The work will be carried out at CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials, University of Aveiro, under the scientific supervision of Filipe Figueiredo.
Duration and scope of activity: The fellowship will have a duration of 12 months on an exclusivity basis, eventually extendable until the end of the project, and is expected to begin in January 2020 until 31 December 2020.
Value of monthly maintenance allowance: 1509,80€ according to the official table for Research Grants from FCT - http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores, to be paid monthly via bank transfer.
Evaluation Criteria and Process: The evaluation criteria are: number and merit of the publications in areas relevant for the proposed activities (50%); academic curriculum (15%); research curriculum relevant for the project activities (25%); the result of an interview about the past activities of the candidate (10%).
The evaluation criteria are: academic curriculum (20%), number and merit of the publications in areas relevant for the proposed activities (60%) and previous experience in areas relevant for the proposed activities (20%). If the elements of the Jury consider necessary, the top 3 candidates are interviewed and the result accounts for 15% of the final mark. If none of the candidates has an adequate profile for the project tasks, or a high-quality curricular profile, the Jury may not attribute the grant to any of the candidates.

Announcement of the result: The final results are presented in the form of a list ordered by final mark, which is on display at the Complexo dos Laboratórios Tecnológicos da Universidade de Aveiro, and sent bay email to the selected applicant.
