Applications are invited for an ASSISTANT RESEARCHER in Education. The researcher must be fluent in spoken and written Portuguese and English. Applicants must have a Doctorate in Educational Sciences or in Social Sciences and research experience on the field of Education is required.
The UIED sub-program Education, Training and Development is focusing on several themes that concern teaching and learning in formal, non-formal and informal settings, as well as on the social, economical, political and personal dynamics of teaching and learning. The research developed has been allowing for consistent results that focus on life-long learning, trajectories of education from former higher education students, the organization of models for educational strategies for young people and adults, and experiences on formal accounting of professional experience as a learning process. The relevance of this topic, together with the need for multidisciplinary approaches, justifies the opening of this position, especially due to the lack of comparative expertise elsewhere.
The following duties are expected: (a) Cooperate with research activities carried out by the members of the specific program, namely theoretical research, conducting field work, writing analyses and conclusions, within national and European projects that are being conducted in UIED. (b) Communicate research activities by cooperating in writing reports, research proposals, articles, chapters of books, or presenting papers at national and international levels. (c) Occasionally conduct seminars or short courses at the master or doctoral level on their field of expertise. (d) Cooperate in writing a proposal of organizational strategies and offers of training particularly in light of life-long education
