Scientific field: Materials Science
Requirements: (i) PhD in field of materials physics, materials chemistry, materials science and engineering with strong experimental background and solid scientific strength; (ii) Scientific experience in graphene and thermoelectric oxides preparation and characterization; (iii) Good English communication.
Purpose of Activity: To prepare and investigate thermoelectric systems composed of graphene and perovskite oxides. The research proposal comprises also the determination of structural, microstructural, electric and thermoelectric properties of the prepared systems, and the evaluation of their figure of merit.
Regulation: The fellowship is in accordance with Law Nº. 40/2004, 18th August (Research Fellow Statute) and Regulamento de Bolsas de Investigação da Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia — no. 234/2012, no. 326/2013 and no. 339/2015 (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/regulamento.phtml.pt) and the Regulation of Scientific Research Grants from the University of Aveiro – Regulation n.º 341/2011, published in Diário da República, 2nd series, n.º 98, 20th Maio.
Place of work and Scientific Orientation: The work will be carried out at the Department of Materials and Ceramic Engineering, at the University of Aveiro. Research will be supervised by Dr. Oleksandr Tkach.
Duration of Activity: The fellowship has the duration of 7 months, renewable up to 6 months more, scheduled to start in January 2018.
Remuneration: The value of the scholarship follows the Tables announced by FCT: 1495€ per month (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). The periodicity of the fellowship's payment is monthly and via bank transfer.
Criteria for evaluation of the candidates: Applications will be screened on the basis of: (i) Scientific Curriculum Vitae (50points); (ii) Previous and confirmed experience in the scientific field of this application (40points), in particular in graphene and perovskite oxides preparation, and their structural and electrical characterization; (iii) If the jury considers necessary, interviews with the 3 best candidates may be held (10points).

Notification of results: The final evaluation results will be publicized through the ordered list by the final grade obtained, posted in a conspicuous and public place in CICECO and the candidate approved will be notified by email.
Opening date and deadline for applications: Applications must be submitted from 3th to 17th of October 2017.
