We offer a position for a research fellow (BI) in the Mitochondrial, Metabolism and Disease Area of the Center for Neurosciences and Cell Biology to highly motivated and adequately qualified candidates. The fellow will be working in the project “EXERCISING THE FUTURE: Voluntary Exercise During Gestational Diabetes as a Means to Improve Mitochondrial Function in the Offspring”, reference POCI-COMPETE 016657 e FCT, IP PTDC/DTP-DES/1082/2014. The ideal candidate must have at least a Master degree in Cell Biology, Toxicology or any other biomedical area, and have training or experience in laboratory/animal data set management and different analytic techniques, including Western Blotting, qRT-PCR, isolation of mitochondrial fractions, evaluation of mitochondrial respiration, and measurement of enzyme activities. Other experience in molecular and cellular biology is also welcome.
The fellow is also expected to collaborate in general laboratory management, including management of animal data sets.
The position is for period of 12 months eventually renewable for more 8 months or until the end of the project which is 31-03-2019, depending on performance, and will start on November 1st, 2017. The successful applicant will be employed full time at the MitoXT: Mitochondrial Toxicology and Experimental Therapeutics Laboratory (UC-Biotech, Biocant Park, Cantanhede) of the Center for Neurosciences and Cell Biology. P.”, approved by the regulation number 234/2012, of June 25, altered by the regulation 326/2013, of August 27, 2013, and by the “Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação Científica”, in its present form.
