We offer a position for a research fellow (BI) in the Mitochondrial, Metabolism and Disease Area of the Center for Neurosciences and Cell Biology to highly motivated and adequately qualified candidates. The fellow will be working in the project “MitoBOOST: A Next-Generation Therapeutics for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Based on Smart Antioxidant Delivery to Mitochondria”, with references POCI-COMPETE 016659 and FCT, IP PTDC/DTP-FTO/2433/2014. The candidate must have at least a Master degree in any field related with Life Sciences. Previous research experience in the following techniques is mandatory: cell culture, cell viability assays, antioxidant studies, mitochondrial respirometry using the Seahorse Xfe96 Extracellular Flow Analyzer (or similar). General background on mitochondrial studies is desirable. We also seek candidates with demonstrated at least 5 years experience as laboratory technician. The fellow is expected to collaborate in general laboratory management as well as in manuscript writing. The position is open for a period of 12 months, later renewed until the end of the project which is on the 2019-03-31. The selected candidate will start on November 1, 2017. The successful applicant will be employed full time at the Mitochondrial, Metabolism and Disease Area of the Center for Neurosciences and Cell Biology. P.”, approved by the regulation number 234/2012, of June 25, altered by the regulation 326/2013, of August 27, 2013, and by the “Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação Científica”, in its present form, as well as the possibility of co-authoring the manuscripts resulting from the work performed by the technician.
