A post-doctoral position to work in seabird research is now open at ISPA – Instituto Universitário, as part of the project “Causes and consequences of individual variability in the migratory strategies of a pelagic seabird, with relevance for marine monitoring in a context of global changes” (PTDC/BIA-ANM/3743/2014), funded by the Portuguese National Science Foundation (FCT) and Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (MCTES) through the strategic project funding. Prospective candidates should meet the following conditions:
Mandatory requirements: The post-holder should have a PhD (completed with certificate already awarded) in zoology/biology/ecology and previous experience of research on seabird ecology (supported by international publications in this area). Furthermore, the successful candidate should have very strong skills in molecular laboratory work (preferably including experience in the measurement of telomeres). A proved ability to publish in high impact journals is also mandatory.
