The successful candidate will be integrated either in the group of Particle Physics and Cosmology or in the Condensed Matter group of the Center of Theoretical and Computational Physics at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. He/She is expected to carry out research in one of the following areas:

1 - Phenomenology of the standard model and its extensions, cosmological models or astroparticle physics. (first priority for appointment)

or,

2 – Theory and simulation of soft condensed matter including the self-assembly, structure, phase diagrams and dynamics of colloids and liquid crystals.

We are looking for a candidate with research interests in areas with strong correlations with the groups. Priority will be given to candidates in the first area (Theoretical Particle Physics or Cosmology).

The position is available for a period of five years during which the successful candidate is expected to establish an independent research project and to contribute to post-graduate training programs at the University of Lisbon, including the supervision of PhD and master students.

Qualifications: The candidate must have a PhD degree in Physics and at least 3 years of post-doctoral experience with relevant scientific production.
