Scientific area: Chemistry, Chemical Engeneering and related areas.
Work plan: This project aims at studying the deconstruction of biomass using low melting point (DES) eutectic solvents, with emphasis on the preparation, characterization and evaluation of solvents for the dissolution / selective extraction of E. globulus biomass components, recovery and reuse of solvents in the process.
The candidate must have na MSc degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engeneering or related scientific areas, and relevant experience in extractive processes or isolation of compounds from biomass (preferential, non-exclusive criterion).
Working place: The work will be carried out at the University of Aveiro, RAIZ and PCI- Science and Innovation Park and in the Doctoral program teaching place.
Grant duration: 12 months (and may be renewed successively), with starting planned for june 2018 .
Scientific supervision: Paulo Ribeiro Claro e João Araújo Pereira Coutinho.
Grant financial conditions: The value of the grant is 980 €, in agreement with the “Regulamento de Bolsas de Investigação Científica da Universidade de Aveiro – Regulamento n.º 341/2011, publicado em Diário da República, 2ª série, n.º 98, de 20 de Maio”. The fellowship will be paid monthly by check, bank transfer, or another equivalent method.
Selection method: CV analysis (70%) relevant experience for the proposed workplan (30%). To clarify specific aspects the 3 first candidates might be called for a personal interview. In that case the previous classification will account for 70 %, and the interview for 30%.
