NOTIFICATION FOR THE ALLOCATION OF SCHOLARSHIPS FOR R&D PROJECTS AND INSTITUTIONS

A call is open for recruitment of one researcher to collaborate in the project “FORMABILITY OF THIRD GENERATION ADVANCED HIGH STRENGTH STEELS”, with the reference POCI-01-0145-FEDER-032466, funded through the Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, in its FEDER component, and the Foundation for Science and Technology, in its State Budget component.

Research Area: Mechanical Engineering

Candidate profile: The candidate should hold a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, experience in numerical simulation of formability of sheet metals, good knowledge of programming language FORTRAN and FEM software ABAQUS.

Workplan: The proposed research focuses on the study of the formability of the third generation advanced high strength steels through the experimental work and numerical simulation for predicting the plastic instability and fracture.

Fellowships are regulated by current laws: Law nº. 40/2004, 18 of August (“Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação Científica”); Regulamento de Bolsas de Investigação da FCT, I. P. approved by Regulamento nº 339/2015, 17 June 2015 (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/docs/RegulamentoBolsasFCT2015.pdf ); and Regulamento de Bolsas de Investigação Científica da Universidade de Aveiro – Regulamento n.º 341/2011, published in Diário da República, 2ª série, n.º 98, 20 May.

Place of work: The work will be carried out at the Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation, Aveiro University, under the supervision of Dr. Marilena Carmen Butuc from University of Aveiro (Portugal).

Duration of fellowships: The fellowships are for 12 months, eventually renewable until the end of the project and starting on February 2019.

Monthly allowance: The monthly allowance is €980, according to the regulations of FCT (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores) and will be paid every month through bank transfer, check or other equivalent way.

Selection method: Candidates CVs and recommendation letters will be evaluated to select up to 3 candidates for interview. Evaluation of the curriculum will have a weight of 60% and the interview 40%. The jury has the right to not select any candidate, if concludes that no one presents the appropriate profile for the proper execution of the work plan.

Selection Committee: President: Dr. Marilena Carmen Butuc; Permanent members: Prof. Dr. António Manuel de Bastos Pereira and Dr. Gabriela Tamara Vincze; Alternate members: Prof. Dr. Augusto Luís Barros Lopes.

Notification of results: The Results will be published at the Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation, Aveiro University. The selected candidate will be notified by email.

Deadline and submission of application: This call is open between 14/01/2019 and 25/01/2019.

Proposals must include a cover letter and the following documents:

- Curriculum Vitae signed and dated.
- Photocopy of the identification document or a declaration with the elements contained therein;
- Recommendation letter;
- BSc and MSc certificates;
- Other relevant documents.
