Admission requirements: Doctoral degree in Physics, Mathematics, or related fields.
If the qualification has been granted by a foreign higher education institution, it must be recognized by a Portuguese higher education institution, under the terms of article 25 of Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of 16 August, which approves the legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and diplomas of Higher Education, awarded by foreign higher education institutions, and of paragraph e) of no. 2 of article 4 of Decree-Law no. 60/2018, of August 3, and any formalities established there to be completed by the date of the contracting act.
Candidates who comply with the provisions of paragraph b) of paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of article 2 of the Research Fellow's Statute are eligible, as amended by Decree-Law no. 123/2019, of August 28, and also the regime established in article 7 of the Regulation for Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology.
Work plan: Integrate the work of the project Testing the Kerr hypothesis with gravitational waves and lenses.
Applicable legislation and regulation: Statute of the Scientific Research Fellow, in the wording given by Decree-Law No. 123/2019, of 28 August; Regulation no. 950/2019, of 29 November, published in Diário da República no. 241, 2nd Series, of 16 December (FCT Research Grants Regulation, I.P.); Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of 16 August (Legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and diplomas of higher education awarded by foreign higher education institutions).
Workplace: The work will be developed at the Center for Research and Development in Mathematics and Applications of the Mathematics Department of the University of Aveiro, under the scientific guidance of Prof. Carlos Alberto Ruivo Herdeiro.
Duration of the grant: The position will have a duration of 24 months, starting in September 2021, possibly renewable up to the limit of the project's execution period.
Amount of monthly maintenance allowance: The amount of the grant corresponds to € 1,646.00, according to the table of values ??for monthly maintenance allowances, set out in Annex I of Regulation No. 950/2019.
Selection methods: The selection methods to be used will be the following: curriculum evaluation and interview, with the respective valuation of 70% and 30% respectively.
Composition of the Selection Jury: Carlos A. R. Herdeiro (president of the jury), Eugen Radu and António P. Morais (effective members), Nicolas Sanchis-Gual and Felipe Freitas (alternate members).
Application deadline and form of submission of applications: The competition is open from 1 to 30 April 2021, with applications only being allowed within the established deadline.

Form of publicity / notification of results: The final results of the evaluation will be published through a list ordered by the final grade obtained posted on the University's website, within a maximum period of 90 working days after the final application submission date, and the candidate (a ) approved (a) notified by e-mail, with a period of 10 working days, foreseen by the Administrative Procedure Code, being set for the purpose of the prior hearing of interested parties. At the end of the period fixed for the hearing of interested parties and, in the absence of any response from them, the ranking list of candidates will become final. From the final decision, candidates can lodge a complaint within 15 working days, or appeal to the maximum executive body of the financing entity within 30 working days after notification of the final decision, in accordance with the provisions of article 12 of Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology.
