Job description:
Scientific area: Computers Engineering / Informatics Engineering
Admission requirements: Master in Electronics, Computer or Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent. Proficiency in oral and written English.
Work plan: Design and development of data routing techniques in sensor networks using virtual channels created with bandwidth reservations.
Applicable legislation and regulations: Law Nº. 40/2004, from 18th of August (Bylaws of the Scientific Research Grantee); Regulations for Advanced Training and Qualifications of Human Resources 2010 and Regulations for Grants from the University of Porto.
Work place: The work will be developed in the Electrical and Computers Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, in the Distributed and Real-time Embedded Systems lab (DaRTES) under the scientific supervision of Professor Luís Miguel Pinho de Almeida.
Grant duration and working regime: The grant will be assigned for an initial period of 4 months with estimated start on the 1st of September of 2012, in exclusivity. The grant contract can possibly be renewed for a period of 6 months.
Grant monthly allowance: The amount of the grant allowance is €980 per month, according to the regulations of the grants directly assigned by FCT, I.P., for work carried out in the country (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores).
The payment will be carried out by bank transfer.
Selection methodology: 1- Assessment of the quality of the candidate’s Curriculum Vitae; . E Adequacy of the candidate’s experience to the project. Each criterion is evaluated on a 1 to 5 points scale, each weighting 50% of the final grade.

Way of notifying/publicizing the results: the final assessment results will be published in a list sorted by final grade and posted in a visible place in the Electrical and Computers Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, and the selected candidate will be notified by email.
Dates of call opening and closing and way of submitting applications: The call is opened between the 11th and the 25th of August of 2012. The applications must be formalized, mandatorily, by sending a letter with the following documents: Curriculum Vitae, copy of a certificate of the highest grade achieved and a motivation letter.
