CALL FOR A RESEARCH POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP AT AN R&D INSTITUTION
One (1) Post-doctoral grant
Title: Natural and synthetic materials characterization by Mössbauer spectroscopy
There is one open position for a Post-Doctoral fellow (BPD) to perform R&D within the project Solid State in the Center for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies (C2TN), Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Multi/04349, with the financial support of FCT/ MEC through national funds and if applicable co-financed by the ERDF under the PT2020 Partnership Agreement:
Scientific Area: Materials Science and Technology/ Materials Chemistry and Environment
Eligibility: Candidates should hold a PhD degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related scientific areas; Skills, knowledge and experience in Materials Chemistry, Mössbauer spectroscopy, Chemistry of Fe compounds and spin crossover will be positively considered for the assessment of the candidates.
Work plan: Mineralogical characterization of environmental samples, structural and magnetic characterization of advanced synthetic materials.
Legislation and official rules: Law N º. 40/2004, dated August 18 (Statute of Scientific Research Fellow); and updated regulation for Studentships and Fellowships of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/docs/RegulamentoBolsasFCT2015.pdf) and of IST-ID.
Place of work: The project will be developed at the Center for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies (C2TN), Campus Tecnológico e Nuclear, Estrada Nacional 10 (km 139,7), 2695-066 Bobadela LRS, of Instituto Superior Técnico, under the supervision of João Carlos Waerenborgh.
Fellowship duration: This position with 12 months duration is expected to start on 1st April 2016.
Monthly allowance: The monthly maintenance allowance is € 1,495, in agreement with the monthly maintenance stipend table of the grants directly attributed by FCT, I.P. within the country (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). The fellowship holder will have a personal accident insurance and, if not covered by any social protection scheme can ensure the right to social security through adherence to the voluntary social insurance scheme, pursuant to “Código dos Regimes Contributivos do Sistema Previdencial de Segurança Social”. The fellowship will be paid by bank transfer.
Selection method: The selection will be based on the quality of their curriculum vitae and experience (70%), motivation letter (30%).

Publication/Notifications of results: The final results will be published as a list ordered by the final score, posted in a visible and public place at Center for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies, Campus Tecnológico e Nuclear, Estrada Nacional 10 (km 139,7), 2695-066 Bobadela, LRS.
